A holiday destination

Puerto Soller is one of the many holiday destinations in Spain that attract millions of tourists every year. The fact that it is situated on the island of Mallorca makes this town enjoy a very favorable climate, warm throughout the entire year. In the past, Puerto Soller used to have a lot of relations with Mallorca, because the Puerto Soller harbor was the main means of exporting local products, especially fruit.

In 1912, with the opening of the railway route uniting Palma and Soller, the town started to enjoy its moments of peace and quiet and it still does; this is the reason why it is such a relaxing holiday destination. People visit Puerto Soller for its beaches; among them, Platja Repic the most popular one, due to its wonderful facilities. However, this is not the only beach in Puerto Soller; Es Travis is just as beautiful as Platja Repic, so you can use it without any concerns.

Tourists need entertainment, so the locals provide a series of boat tours; some of these tours can take you to the beautiful place where Sa Calobra can be found, a place that will charm you with its beauty. Puerto Soller is also a place for those who love water sports and enjoy partaking in them. You can try anything from windsurfing to scuba diving and sailing here. If you are a romantic person, you should visit the lighthouse: the views from the Faro de Punta Grossa are absolutely magnificent. If you are interested in the past of this small Spanish resort, you should visit the Maritime Museum; many parts of the history of this holiday resort are related to the sea.

Sightseeing is an important activity in Puerto Soller. When you are finished with visiting the monuments along the coastline, go to the centre of town. There you will find the old quarter, which was built around the railway that used to have its beginning here. You can even take the train to Palma de Mallorca; the journey is only one hour long, but the landscapes are breathtaking. When you get back to the centre of town, go to Plaza Constitucion; this old square is full of fountains that deserve your attention.
